Quinta do Lago Silencioso was conceived as a space for ecological tourism. The solution thought to be more adequate to this concept was the construction with adobe bricks, since it is healthier and fits better the environmental purposes. Due to its specificities, the construction with adobe bricks makes houses more comfortable, with an ideal percentage of humidity and at the ideal temperature. This is due to the fact that this type of construction absorbs excess humidity and has the facility of inverting the system when the air is too hot. In winter adobe walls accumulate the heat and release it slowly during the night. In summer it's exactly the opposite. Pure comfort! In addition to the option for adobe bricks, all the other aspects of the construction were conceived at the light of the environmental policy underlying this Project. No varnishes or plastic paints were used; the walls were painted with mineral paints, the floor was waxed and the wooden materials were oiled.
